Dead Orchids Altered Box

Hello, everyone!
I am finally back from my break and with the new post. YAY for me! I am here with a new Altered Box.

I painted the entire box with Distress Paint in Brushed Corduroy and then covered the lid using a paper by Recollections Tattered and Worn Cardstock Paper Pad. I distressed the paper with my all-time to-go Distress Ink in Vintage Photo. Then I sprayed some using Prima Marketing Color Bloom spray in Empress Gold and Heidi Swapp spray in Amethyst.

Next, I assembled some embellishments (FAV part). I Found a KEY in my stash (I am sorry I have no idea who’s it is) which I painted using Distress Paint in Dusty Concord and Dusty Attic‘s Gears in Tarnished Brass. I liked how it gave me a shimmery effect. Then took out some lace which I got from my home country Pakistan 3 years ago (OOPS!) and some metal embellishments which I bought from Micheals except the vintage looking frame and roman number which are by Tim Holtz. Flowers are by Prima Marketing from their collection ‘Tales of You & Me’ and also the small bulb that reads out ‘cute’. I have been saving this pack since FOREVER – literally. In the end, I felt something was still missing so I added a lacey twine on the side of the lid. It gave a box instant wear-off look which was very much needed.

This is it for now – I hope you like the post. Do leave some love below!

See you next time!

Mad Hatter Altered Box

Hello, everyone!
I’m back after a LONG long break. Some of you might know it has been quite long since I have blogged. Anyway, so here I come with one of my recent creations. I have given a name Mad Hatter (those of you who don’t know I love giving random names to my projects).

Let’s dig in, shall we?
I got a great deal on a set cardboards, thought of altering one of them recently. It’s approx size is 4.5×4.5″. At first, I covered it with Black acyclic paint from Apple Barrel. Then took a cut piece of a paper from Classique Beauty 12×12″ paper pad by Authentique and distressed it completely using Old Paper and Antique Linen. I then distressed the sides with Vintage Photo (all time favourite!). Next, I stamped some Tim Holtz scripted stamp using Distress Embossing Ink and covered in ‘Heirloom Gold’ Perfect Pearls. Then sprayed using Heidi Swapp ‘Patina’ & ‘Black’ and Prima Marketing ‘Empress Gold’. Afterwards, I used a Dusty Attic stencil and used a Prima Marketing Finnabair texture paste in White Sand. It actually turns transparent so to add a little bit of a colour I dropped in few drop of Brushed Corduroy Distress Paint.

Secondly, went in with the embellishments. ‘Little Story’ and Butterfly wood icons are by Prima Marketing and ‘Sweet’ wood veneer is by Jillibean Soup from their Today pack which I have distressed it with Black Soot Distress Paint. The beautiful layer of clocks is by BoBunny from there Heritage Layered Chipboard pack. Flowers are a mix of Recollection and Prima Marketing & Vintage Trinkets are by Finnabair.

Finally, topped it with some sequins and Recollection flat pearls to give a little bit of a bling.

I truly enjoyed making it. Hope you all like it.
See you soon!

Pulled up a mint colored cardstock, distressed it and went on with the mists. Next, I used White Sand Textured Paste. Btw this was my first time using this one and I didn’t read that it dries out transparent. My bad!! However, I loved how it looked in the end so it was a win win. Then I arranged the embellishments and layered up some more cardstocks.
Here is a closer look to it! Hope you like it!
Leave some love in the comments below! Until next time.

Unforgettable Moments Canvas

Hi there! Today’s Crafters’ Palette post is a multi-layered canvas. Trust me it’s super easy to make. It hardly took 45 minutes!

First, I grabbed three cardstocks and tore them up. Then I distressed them using a bunch of Distress Ink colors and used Distress Spray Stains in ‘Festive Berries’ & ‘Seedless Preserves’.

Next, I grabbed some chipboard embellishments and used Distress Paints all over them. I used ‘Antique Linen’ & ‘Black Soot’. I then cut out some butterflies using the gorgeous Winged Beauties Thinlit Dies, and distressed them in two-tone. The last step was to add some Prima flowers!

Hope you liked it! Till next time!

Baby Shower Boxes

Hello there! Today’s post is all about making customized boxes. Trust me – it’s quite easy!

These are baby shower boxes which I did recently. I bought some plain boxes to decorate, but you could use one of the Sizzix bag/box dies to create your own (did I mention they’re also on sale?!).

I covered the edges of my box lid with lace. To cover the ends of the lace, I attached a bow that said ‘It’s a Girl’.

For the front, I layered three cardstocks. I used a foam tape to give a dimensional look. The top paper has been distressed using an ‘Evergreen Bough’ Distress Ink Pad – plain white looked too boring! On the other side, I die-cut some butterflies using the gorgeous Sizzix Winged Beauties Thinlits.

I glued a few rhinestones here and there to finish my box. TAA-DAA! The boxes were done – pretty simple huh?

Floral Mini Configuration Box

Hi everyone!
I have a new mini configuration box to share with you all for Crafters’ Pallete.

You won’t believe where I got the box from! It’s a piece of packaging from a Prima product I bought a while ago – it was just perfect for altering!

I covered the entire box with some scrapbook paper and distressed the edges using Distress Paint in Walnut Stain to define the edges. Once I covered the whole thing, I began to embellish – the fun part, of course! I glued on some Prima flowers (if you haven’t already seen the new range of Prima flowers at Crafters’ Palette, they are so worth taking a look!), and added some metal embellishments. I also added a wooden butterfly to the bottom right-hand corner and filled a miniature glass bottle with silver glitter and a ‘love’ note.

Sounds pretty easy to make, right? It definitely is! I hope you like today’s post – ‘til next time!
